Unlocking Career Potential: Stand Out in the Tech Job Market

Wherever your IT career path takes you, staying current with top certifications will always be a plus. In the growing world of IT and technology, it can be hard to stand out in the tech job market as more people are trying to break into this field. Here’s a list of some of the most in-demand options out there:

Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect

Since Amazon is the largest provider of cloud computing services, it makes sense that this vendor-specific certification is important. It validates your ability to design and deploy cloud environments using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is helpful for cloud solution architects, project managers, administrators and developers. The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner credential is recommended as a first step.

CCIE Data Center

This Cisco certification indicates expert-level skills in planning, operating, monitoring and troubleshooting complex data center networks. You must pass a qualifying exam as well as a lab exam in order to achieve CCIE certification.

CDPSE: Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer

This certification validates the technical capability to assess, build and implement comprehensive privacy solutions. It is offered through the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).

CCSP: Certified Cloud Security Professional

This certification acknowledges advanced technical skills in designing, managing and securing data, applications and cloud infrastructure. It is based on best practices, policies and procedures set by experts at the International Information System Securing Certification Consortium (ISC).

CDP: Certified Data Professional

An update to the Certified Data Management Professional, certified data professionals can specialize in several different areas including business and data analytics, design, data governance, and management. There are five levels of CDP certification: Foundation, Associate/Practitioner, Master/Expert, Principal and Executive.

CEH: Certified Ethical Hacker

IT pros with CEH certification specialize in testing by learning the latest commercial-grade hacking tools and methodologies lawfully used by hackers and information security professionals. Unlike most IT certifications, you must apply to take the CEH, as well as submit exam eligibility.

CISM: Certified Information Security Manager

This ISACA-offered certification focuses on security governance, program development, and managing incidents and risk. It’s ideal if you’re looking to advance in the management arena and demonstrate your skills in creating and implementing security systems.

CISA: Certified Information Systems Auditor

Also under the ISACA umbrella is this credential, which is recognized globally as the primary certification for information security audit control.

CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional

This certification is designed for experienced IT pros. It teaches the vulnerabilities in networked systems and how to create policies to safeguard them and minimize risk. You can take either the CISSP CAT (computerized adaptive test) or the CISSP CBT, which is a more standard linear exam.

CRISC: Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control

Another ISACA offering, this certification teaches risk management and how to develop and implement IS controls.

CSM: Certified ScrumMaster

This credential teaches Scrum framework and acknowledges that you can guide others in understanding related values, principles and practices.
